LEICESTER are pinning their hopes on Kim Nilsson and Danny King for individual glory on Saturday.

They are the Watling JCB Lions representatives in the prestigious Premiership Riders’ Championship at Belle Vue’s National Speedway Stadium (7.30).

It’s a huge occasion for the Speedway Great Britain series of events with the top two riders from all eight clubs in the top flight.

Nilsson, who will also race in the Stockholm FIM Speedway Grand Prix next week, is relishing the prospect of big meetings.

“It’s an exciting time for me and I’m looking forward to it,” he said. “It feels like it’s been a good season, it’s always a bit up and down but really it was the injury that caused the problems.

“It’s been a bit of a tough time coming back from that, but I’m feeling like I’m on the way all the time, and from day one I felt I could do it.

“I started off with a maximum in my first meeting back in the Allsvenskan League so I know what I can do, and it’s feeling like things are all coming together now.”
